Homeostasis part 2: Acid-base balance

Article Abstract:

A discussion on homeostasis and its role in maintaining stable bodily conditions includes acid-base balance and explores blood gas analysis, related conditions and nursing care. It is recommended that, where possible, support in the form of fluid management, drug therapy or mechanical support, should be given if the body's own mechanisms are unable to cope with the demand.

Fluid-balance monitoring as part of track and trigger

Article Abstract:

Fluid-balance is essential for the normal functioning of all systems in the body, maintaining body temperature, and cell shape, and involved in the transportation of nutrients, gases, and waste products. A number of complex regulators work together to maintain the balance in the body, including kidney, antidiuretic hormone and renin and angiotensin response.
