The challenge of change

Article Abstract:

Managing change is key to reducing the anxiety and unproductive behavior that come with it. Increasing the flow of information and encouraging questions keeps people up-to-date and limits the spread of rumors. Those in charge need to learn quality listening, including speaking freely about time limits when someone needs to talk. Appropriate ways to express the anger that can come from change need to be available. People tolerate change better when they pay extra attention to their physical and mental health.

Introduction

Article Abstract:

The American Dental Association (ADA) has many information resources for dentists who are considering selling their practice to a dental management service organization (DMSO). DMSOs take over the business aspects of a dental practice so the dentist can focus on patient care. However, many DMSOs vary in the business services they provide and the level of control they exercise over the practice. Consequently, dentists should use the ADA's resources to decide whether they want to contract with a DMSO.

Legal issues and DMSOs

Article Abstract:

Dentists should consider many legal issues before associating with or selling their practice to a dental management services organization (DMSO). DMSOs usually take over the business operation of a dental practice so the dentist can focus on patient care. However, the contract can be very complicated and dentists can benefit from the advice of an attorney, a tax specialist and a financial consultant.
