The effects of the time interval form antenatal cortocosteriod exposure to delivery on neonatal outcome of very low birth weight infants

Article Abstract:

The interval between antenatal steroid exposure and delivery influences neonatal outcome in very low birth weight infants was studied. The findings indicated that in infants weighing between 500 g to 1500 g, the time interval between exposure to corticosteroids and delivery did not have any impact on neonatal outcome.

Multiple courses of antenatal corticosteroids: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Article Abstract:

Multiple doses of corticosteroids given at regular intervals to pregnant women at risk of premature delivery may reduce the risk of respiratory distress syndrome in their baby. However, most of the studies on this topic were not controlled clinical trials.

Effect of single versus multiple courses of antenatal corticosteroids on maternal and neonatal outcome

Article Abstract:

Pregnant women at risk of premature delivery who take several weekly doses of corticosteroids can lower the risk of respiratory distress syndrome in their baby. However, multiple doses of corticosteroids may produce more side effects than a single dose.
