The magnetic resonance imaging-based fetal-pelvic index: a pilot study in the community hospital

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to assess feasibility and acceptability of comparative fetal ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) maternal pelvimetry with previous cesarean sections for cephalopelvic (CPD), who were candidates for vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC). The results depict that the use of comparative MRI pelvimetry and fetal ultrasonography is feasible in a community hospital and that it appeared to have potential in enhancing the management of VBAC candidates.

Magnetic resonance-based serial pelvimetry: Do maternal pelvic dimensions change during pregnancy?

Article Abstract:

A study to evaluate the stability of the maternal pelvis over the course of the third trimester and the puerperium is illustrated. Results reveal that serial magnetic resonance-based pelvimetry showed relative stability of pelvic measurements through the course of pregnancy and delivery but if comparative pelvimetry is to be useful as an antepartum predictor of labor success, then it might be possible to obtain reliable pelvimetry in those patients anytime after delivery.

Preeclampsia into eclampsia: toward a new paradigm

Article Abstract:

Eclampsia does not necessarily evolve from pre-eclampsia, according to a study of 53 pregnant women with eclampsia. Thirty-two developed eclampsia without ever experiencing pre-eclampsia. Both of these conditions are a serious complication of pregnancy.
