The working wounded: electrical injuries

Article Abstract:

Permanent scaring through burns, shock, brain damage and death are just some of the injuries which can be sustained by contact with even small amounts of electricity. Blood vessels offer electricity an ideal route to flow along, causing burns on the inside and outside of the human body. The use of electrical protective devices will help either reduce the level of electrical current if a fault is detected, or a circuit breaker can be used to completely stop the supply.

The working wounded: eye injuries

Article Abstract:

A high number of accidents involving eye injuries are sustained on building sites or by self-employed workers who settle for unacceptably low standards when it comes to health and safety standards. Wearing the correct eye protection could prevent serious injury which can result in almost complete loss of vision. Those areas at highest risk should ensure a full first aid kit is kept close at hand with treatments which irrigate and soothe eyes after injury.

The working wounded

Article Abstract:

The highly embarrassing symptoms of having a peptic ulcer often mean people suffer bouts of sickness, weight loss and pain. Peptic ulcers are caused by a bacterial build up resulting in a hole in the lining of the stomach. Taking antibiotics is a fast and effective method of killing the bacteria which causes the ulcer. The main ulcer-causing bacteria is H. pylori which may be linked to stomach cancer and heart disease.
