Theatre programme

Article Abstract:

Efficient anaesthetic gas scavenging systems which extract the gases in hospitals are necessary to make conditions safer for staff. In 1982 the UK Department of Health ruled that all operating theatres must have either passive or active scavenging systems. The majority of the hospitals chose passive systems because they were cheaper but they are now having to be changed as hospitals realize the dangers of staff exposure. Exposure to anaesthetic gases can cause nauseau, headaches, fatigue and spontaneous abortions.

The Russian government is hoping to raise $2.4 billion via privatisations. Deals approved by presidential decree are to go ahead.
