AndroGel

Article Abstract:

AndroGel is a 1% solution of testosterone in a gel formulation. It is designed to be rubbed on the skin for the treatment of hypogonadism in men. This condition is caused by insufficient amounts of testosterone in the blood, which causes loss of energy, decreased sex drive, impotence, loss of muscle mass, anemia, and osteoporosis. AndroGel may be better than transdermal testosterone patches, which tend to fall off. However, it could be absorbed by women and children who come in contact with the man.
