Drugs for sexually transmitted diseases

Article Abstract:

Many drugs are available for the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, such as various genital infections, gonorrhea, syphilis and herpes simplex. Sexually transmitted diseases are transmitted during sexual intercourse. Tables on each disease contain information about the drug of choice, recommended dosage, and alternative medications. A range of antibiotics is available for the treatment of chlamydia trachomatis infections. Ceftriaxone effectively treats gonorrhea and related conditions, while gels and creams are recommended for vaginal infections. Penicillin dosages depend on the stage of syphilis. Herpes simplex may require acyclovir in various doses, up to 5 milligrams per kilogram for severe hospitalized cases. Drug recommendations extend to children born to infected women.
