Racial/ethnic variations of practicing dentists

Article Abstract:

Trend analysis of dental practice rent and mortgage expenses: 1989-1995

Article Abstract:

Most dentists in private practice rent their facilities, rather than own them. Three-fourths of surveyed dentists from 1989-1995 paid rent. Mortgage expenses, as a percentage of gross billings, were similar to rent expenses during the surveyed period. The cost of office space, as a percentage of billings, falls as the number of dentists in a practice increases. The financial advantages of owning office space is not substantial, so most dentists will likely continue to rent the space in which they work.
