Retinoid X receptor heterodimers in the metabolic syndrome

Article Abstract:

Abdominal obesity, atherogenic dyslipidemia, hypertension, insulin resistance, inflammation, and prothrombotic states characterize the metabolic syndrome, also known as syndrome X. It is suggested that continued research into the retinoid X receptor (RXR) heterodimer discovery cycle for the improved treatment of the metabolic syndrome is a promising strategy.
