Update in palliative medicine and end-of-life care

Article Abstract:

This review discusses various aspects of palliative medicine such as its objective and components aimed at achieving a total care and management of the quality of life of patients with advanced disease. While palliative care is all about relieving the patients and their families from suffering, compassionate communication and management of pain, depression, delirium, and grief form an integral part of the end-of-life care.

Technology-driven triage of abdominal trauma: the emerging era of nonoperative management

Article Abstract:

This review discusses the emerging trend in the management of abdominal trauma and the choice treatment options. Recent and upcoming advances in research and technology development indicate that there is a shift from operative to selective nonoperative mode of treatment and management of blunt or penetrating abdominal trauma. It is safe and cost-effective.
