Article Abstract:

Video tapes can be a useful tool for physicians in many aspects of their practice. Uses for video tapes include waiting room entertainment, video brochures, direct mail marketing campaigns, staff training, video news releases, broadcast or cable television advertising, and as information videos for medical support groups. Typical 5-7 minutes videos cost $1,000-$1,500 for simple productions, or $5,000-$7,000 for high-quality professional work.

Information about topics such as health information and new techniques and procedures can be included in medical bills for the cost of photocopying, mailing and clerical support. It is important to secure the right to reproduce materials taken from sources such as newspapers and magazines.

Outcomes studies can boost doctors' control over care

Article Abstract:

Physicians can gain more control by becoming proactive in the area of patient outcomes research. In healthcare, the focus has been on costs, but if health care officials consider other factors, such as outcomes, costs can be reduced. For physicians, this also means better quality care, patient satisfaction and better clinical response. Software is a necessary part of outcomes research.
