What determines a successful tension-free vaginal tape? A prospective multicenter cohort study: Results from The Netherlands TVT database

Article Abstract:

The study is carried out to report which preoperative and intraoperative factors influence the success of the tension-free vaginal tape procedures for stress urinary incontinence. It is concluded that the inexperience of the surgeon with the tension-free vaginal tape procedure and general anesthesia has a negative effect on the result, thus suggesting that only the experienced surgeons should perform this procedure.

The effectiveness of tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) and quality of life measured in women with previous urogynecologic surgery: Analysis from The Netherlands TVT database

Article Abstract:

Long-term outcome of tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) in women with a history of surgery for urinary incontinence and/or prolapse is presented by means of objective health-related quality of life (HRQOL) questionnaires. The results have shown that TVT is effective for surgery for women with recurrent stress urinary incontinence and/or previous prolapse surgery.
