Article Abstract:

Children's Trust in Tadworth, Surrey provides care, education and therapy including rehabilitation, respite and permanent accommodation for children and young people with complex health needs and disabilities. Its new venture is a service for the growing number of children who require long-term ventilation and its ultimate aim is to enable these children to live at home with their families, where the service will offer ongoing support to enable them to manage their children's ventilation.

How extending the hand of friendship builds better lives

Article Abstract:

The decision to sign up as a befriended through a local charity that finds volunteers to act as role models to children and young people who require extra support from someone they trust outside their family is described. If one has ever thought about volunteering, becoming a befriended can enrich ones nursing career and ones life is explained.
