Women of the cloth

Article Abstract:

The right to wear a headscarf has become an important issue in Turkish nursing. The Turkish government, which is secular, has banned the wearing of clothing with religious connotations in state establishments. Almost all the Turkish population are members of the Islamic religion which requires a woman to cover her head and neck. The government insists that nurses in state hospitals should wear a regulation cap. Any nurse wearing a headscarf in a state hospital faces instant dismissal, and headscarf-wearing nurses working in the private sector may receive lower pay.

The agricultural revolution of 10,000 years ago increased the amount of food in humans' diet from plants, causing a decrease in height which continued until the industrial revolution. Evidence suggests humans' intake of saturated fat is too high.
