Strategic considerations in the introduction of advanced manufacturing technologies in the Cypriot industry

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the adaption of advanced manufacturing technologies (AMTs) in the Cyprus manufacturing industry. AMTs' impact is specifically analyzed in the areas that include product/market characteristics, competitive priorities and manufacturing parameters. Results show that the application of AMTs in the Cypriot manufacturing industry has brought about higher flexibility, better product/market characteristics and improved plant utilization.

Technological capability of the micro-enterprises in Kenya's informal sector

Article Abstract:

The informal sector is composed of micro-enterprises which usually employs the poor urban working population and is most prevalent in developing nations. Kenya is one of the countries that largely depends on the informal sector for employment for many of its people. Despite this, most micro-enterprises in Kenya do not grow to become small or medium enterprises because of the low level of technological capability of the sector.
