Management control of biomedical research and pharmaceutical innovation

Article Abstract:

Management control plays a vital role in the promotion of productive biomedical research and pharmaceutical innovation. The ability of academic hospitals, health research institutes, and pharmaceutical companies in providing effective management control; system, process, and external control; and flexible organization results in successful biomedical research and pharmaceutical breakthroughs. Provision of an effective personnel policy, frequent communications and contacts in research meetings and conferences are some of the important aspects of management control that often lead to high management competency and organizational flexibility.

Managing the technology acquisition process

Article Abstract:

A conceptual model was created to effectively manage the technology acquisition process. The model, which was incorporated in groupware environment called MANTRA, specifically offers a formalized approach to technology acquisition. It assess the feasibility of technology acquisition options by integrating the technology acquisition process with market needs, product development process, technology sources and strategic plans.

The analysis of dynamic capabilities in a competence-oriented organization

Article Abstract:

An organization's competence is measured by its ability to use technological innovations in its organizational processes. Competence, however, is driven by how firms use innovations to develop their capabilities. A case study of Smith and Nephew Group shows how the firm used a competence-oriented approach integrated with research and development planning to provide better healthcare services.
