Measuring and optimizing the input technical effectiveness and efficiency of production processes by means of the linear programming method

Article Abstract:

The linear programming method was adopted to two real industrial cases to maximize the input technical effectiveness and efficiency of manufacturing processes. The study have shown the reliability and usefulness of the mathematical method in getting data and information about the degree of efficiency achieved in production processes. Linear programming is also said to be useful for conducting techno-economic analysis and in improving the management of a process or the process itself.

Towards a definition and a dynamic measure of strategic technology

Article Abstract:

The strategic use of technological innovations requires the proper assessment of its values. Strategic value parameters and their logical arrangement and manipulation enable a determination of strategic value. The methodology makes use of a relevance tree structure to obtain a final index. A suggested method for defining the economic relevance of specific technologies is by expressing it asa ratio of the value of products obtained and the gross national product.

New indicators for measuring the manifold aspects of technical and economic efficiency of production processes and technologies

Article Abstract:

A methodology was developed to accurately measure the manifold phenomena related to production activities at both economic and technical levels. These phenomena include materials and energy cycle efficiency; product absolute and constant quality efficiency; process, product, energy cycle environmental efficiency; product mix variability, product volume and input efficiency; and equipment static and dynamic operating efficiency.
