Using market vision to steer innovation

Article Abstract:

The three primary types of business innovation, which aid in enhancing business performance, are market innovation, product innovation and process innovation. Market innovation, which deals with enhancing the mix of target markets, can provide the reason for the existence of the other kinds of innovation. It can be a significant factor in determining the economic balance. It analyzes the value of current customers, as well as the appeal of replacing some of them with new ones. Market vision can be used as a guide for innovations in improving business performance.

Kirton adaptation-innovation theory: organizational implications

Article Abstract:

M.J. Kirton's Adaptive-Innovation or cognitive style theory states that individuals can be classified into two classes, the innovators and the adaptors. The innovators are advocates of change and are willing to cross rigid cultural boundaries in pursuit of innovative ideas. On the other hand, adaptors often lead the resistance to change, preferring to stick to tested technologies. This culture clash between the two sectors has serious implications on the operations of any business organization.
