Ann Marie Lipsinki: Senior vice president and editor of the Chicago Tribune

Article Abstract:

Ann Marie Lipsinki began her career at the Chicago tribune as a summer intern in 1978 and later on, became the first female vice president and editor of the newspaper in February 2001and is credited for helping in revolutionizing the newspapers image by focusing stories of interest to a more diversified readership. Lipsinki won the Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University for journalistic excellence along with 12 reporters in 1989 and the Pulitzer Prize in 1988 and Illinois Associated Press Editors Association Awards in 1981 and many more.

Article Abstract:

Sulzberger knew early on that he wanted to succeed his father, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, and become the fifth family member to head the Times. Arthur Jr's expertise and friendly management style soon won him over to his staff. His most important decision has been to publish the Unabomer's manifesto.
