Article Abstract:

James Ellroy is popularly known for his crime-fiction stories, which had something to do with his past experiences. Ellroy grew up with his mother, who was murdered in 1958, after which he fell for drugs, theft and alcoholism. His noted works include 'The Black Dahlia','LA confidential', and the 'The Big Nowhere.'

Article Abstract:

The life of writer James Carroll, born on Jan 22, 1943, in Chicago, IL, closely resembles that of his father, Joe Carroll, who was a US Air Force general. Carroll's novels are mostly focused on war, espionage, politics, religion and patriotism. 'An American Requiem' is his best-known work.
