Bonnie Hammer, Cable-television executive

Article Abstract:

Bonnie Hammer took charge of the Sci-Fi Channel's programming, in 1998 and quickly revamped its lineup to include fewer old, syndicated shows and more original programs due to which the Sci-Fi Channel became the most popular networks in cable TV industry. In 2004, she became president of USA Network, whose programs include the highly regarded series Monk, while maintaining her title as president of the Sci-Fi Channel.

The life and work of Cornell Capa, photographer and founder of the International Center of Photography is presented with reference to his achievements in his career life. His main aim was not only to capture images with his camera but also to focus attention on important issues, such as mental retardation, old age in America, poverty and politics in Latin America and the campaigns of major U.S. political figures.
