Dees, Morris S., Jr

Civil rights lawyer Morris S. Dees Jr. was born on Dec. 16, 1936 in Shorter, AL. He founded the Southern Poverty Law Center in 1971 and has since been defending the legal and civil rights of the poor, regardless of race, through litigation and education.
