Debra Dickerson

The African-American writer Debra Dickerson became a U.S. Air-force Captain in charge of intelligence at an American base in Turkey in 1980. She wrote the book 'An American Story' that traces her life, from her difficult childhood to the point at which she became an independent thinker.
