Article Abstract:

There have been several setbacks in the quest to acquire legal rights for individuals who engage in unorthodox domestic partnerships. For instance, domestic partners can be denied access to housing units based on religious grounds. The Washington DC domestic-partnership policy for homosexuals has also been receiving heavy criticism. The Vatican has also made known its policy of condoning certain acts of discrimination against homosexuals.
