The dangers of chronic distress

Article Abstract:

A simple 14-question personality test known as DS14 which defines overall distress in terms of two emotional states 'negative affectivity' and 'social inhibition', which could be used as powerful predictor of cardiovascular health is presented. It is not shown that easing your distress, whether through medication, talk therapy or antidepressants could help prevent heart attacks, but feeling better would have to be an end in itself.
