Murray Gell-Mann has helped investigators to produce a consolidated quantum field theory. The theory of quantum chromodynamics is largely a result of Gell-Mann's insights. He has obtained various honorary doctorates and awards such as the Franklin Medal of the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA.

Witten, Edward

Article Abstract:

Baltimore, MD-born Edward Witten is a gravitational physicist and a professor emeritus at the University of Cincinnati. He contributed to the understanding of quantum theory and also conducted a study that explained the topological anomalies occurring in radioactive decay.
