McGwire, Mark

Article Abstract:

Mark McGwire plays first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals and is considered the only player that can beat the 61 home runs of Roger Maris of the New York Yankees. The six-foot, five-inch McGwire became "Rookie of the Year" in 1987 with 49 home runs. His excellence in the field is still evident in the 1998 season.
