Leonard Riggio has been influential in making Barnes and Noble Inc the leading retail bookseller in the US. Riggio began his career in bookselling in the 1960s during his college days. He purchased Barnes and Noble Bookstore in 1971.

Scheele, Leonard Andrew

Article Abstract:

Leonard A. Scheele died on Jan 8, 1993. Scheele was the Surgeon General from 1948 and 1958 and supervised the production and distribution of the first polio vaccine. He later became an executive of Warner-Lambert Pharmaceutical Co.
