Bill Viola's video works are inspired by his own experiences and Eastern philosophy. He became famous in video art in the late 1980s and in 1995, he was chosen to represent the US at the Venice Biennale. His most famous videos include 'I Do Not Know What It Is I Am,' and 'The Messenger.'
