Williams turned to standup comedy after attending Juillard, and amazed audiences with his supercharged, manic routines. He became an instant hit as Mork in 'Mork & Mindy,' then gained acclaim for film roles both comic, as in 'Good Morning Vietnam,' and dramatic as in 'Dead Poets Society.'
