Zedillo Ponce de Leon, Ernesto

Article Abstract:

Ernesto Zedillo became president of Mexico largely as a result of the untimely assassination of Luis Donaldo Colosio, the candidate whose campaign he was running. Primarily an economist, Zedillo is perceived to have lacked the desire to hold public office prior to Colosio's death.

Muammar Qaddafi has been Libya's leader since 1969. Because of his pan-Arabism and the dictatorial and terrorist policies he uses to achieve it, he has become the most scorned and denigrated leader in the world. He was born in 1942.
