1927 London to London flight ended in disaster
Article Abstract:
The mail flight of the 'Sir John Carling' made two attempts to cross from London, Ontario to London, England because of bad weather. All but one of the 100 special stamps prepared for the flight were put on covers and thus lost at sea. The sole stamp was sold in 1979 for $30,000 (Canadian).
