Canadian Post commemorates golf courses

National Golf Week, the 100th anniversary of the first Canadian Amateur Golf Championships and the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Golf Association will all be honored by the June 6, 1995 issuing of five commemorative stamps depicting famous Canadian golf courses.

Ireland commemorates narrow gauge railroad system

Article Abstract:

After WW I, the narrow-gauge railroad became important in Ireland having over 3000 miles of tracks. Competition and technological advancements saw this railroad type become obsolete in less than 40 years. Stamps honoring the railroads are described.

Angola commemorates native potery

Article Abstract:

Four stamps are in the set which honors local craftsmanship. The ceramics are made without a potter's wheel and are traditional. The ornate pots pictured are described and a history of Angolan pottery and its traditions are recounted.
