Civilian aircraft are suitable subjects in creating scale model airplanes and are good alternatives to vintage WW II designs. Novice model enthusiasts can employ simple rib stitching techniques using glue and tape in their models.

Jets and the Toledo Show

There are several ways of producing scale model jets and the most common are ducted 'pushers' and ducted 'tractors.' Scale jets at the Toledo show included MiGs, T-38s, F-4s Phantoms, F-86 Sabre Jets, a scale YF-22 among others.
