The making of Eleven Tears, an 11-sided quartz crystal, which is a memorial to the 11 American Express employees who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, is presented. The memorial design called for the crystal to hang upside down so that its natural tip would be at the bottom and the 11 sides were to be in the lower half of the crystal, allowing the top faceting to evolve as it went along.
