Article Abstract:

Surveying and examining a used engine and the drive before purchasing a boat is a must for potential buyers. It should be done when the engine is at room temperature. Pulling the dipstick on a cold engine, listening to strange knocks and scanning hoses are other steps in the process.

Article Abstract:

Mercury Marine has changed the tradename of its inboards and stern drives to Mercury MerCruiser and introduced some new products for 1999. The new tradename, however, will last only for a year. Several other marine motor manufacturers have also introduced new products for 1999.
