Flutter - causes and cures

Article Abstract:

Flutter is a vibration caused by airflow that can tear apart a model aircraft. The airflow causes the wing to flex and changes the aerodynamic structure. Weights in the wing tips can help avoid this problem.

How to improve flight performance

Poor lateral control is a common problem in model airplanes which is often conufused with poor lateral stability. It may be solved by using lateral control spoilers or Junkers external airfoil flaperon.

Flutter - causes and cures

Several means to prevent and fix flutter are presented. Most aileron and elevator flutter requires tip-mounted balancers. Other repair hints include inboard balancers and dual balancers.
