French new issues include equestrian semipostal

Article Abstract:

On May 15, 1995 four new stamps were issued including a semipostal with the extra charge benefitting the French Red Cross. The stamps are described. The charity raising stamp is called the Saumur Tapestry and shows King Louis XIII on a horse. Saumur is a town noted for its famous riding school.

Germany new issues include famous women stamps

Article Abstract:

Upcoming German issues include Europa 1996 'Famous Women'; German Theater Association 150th anniversary; 75th anniversary of Wolfgang Borchert; and 50 years of the Ruhr festival in Recklinghausen. the first two Famous Women commemorated are artists Paula Modersohn-Becker and Kathe Kollwitz.
