Vol 1B covers stamps for the UK, and the former British Empire in Africa, the Pacific, Asia, and Europe. The introduction shows 11 examples of typical British Commonwealth stamps with various grading. Market values show increases such as the UK Penny Black unused, up from $1,900 to $ 3,000.

Russia & Thailand rise in Scott 1996 volume 5
Article Abstract:
There are some 10,000 value changes in the new 1996 Scott stamp catalog. Of these, almost 4,000 are Russian and 1,700 are Thai listings. Significance stamp value changes for others countries are also discussed. Several of the changes for the Thai and Russian stamps are described in detail.
