Gold in quartz

Article Abstract:

Rock crystal quartz is the only known material to host inclusions of gold. Quartz with gold inclusions ranges from white to yellowish, and from translucent to nearly opaque. Gold inclusions in quartz are extremely rare.

Bismuth in quartz

Article Abstract:

Bismuth crystal inclusions can be seen in emerald-cut rock crystal quartz stones. At times, the inclusions can be seen by the naked eye. Bismuth inclusions do not oxidize but they usually tarnish.
