Article Abstract:

Amber is a transparent gem with a golden hue. Most of them were formed during the Tertiary period from the fossilized resin of prehistoric trees. A fossilized amber gems can provide a picture of prehistoric insects that were trapped and preserved perfectly within it.

Triploidite in quartz

Article Abstract:

Triploidite minerals are rare and rarer still when they are discovered embedded in a host rock, such as quartz. Triploidite inclusions are visible to the naked eye, appearing granular with pink, blue, yellow and white streaks.

Almandine in sapphire

Article Abstract:

Almandine garnets as an inclusion in sapphires was discovered in Dry Cottonwood Creek, MT. Marc Bielenberg conducted a study to determine the sapphire potential of the area and found the sample with almandine.
