A description of modern Guinea-Bissau along with its colonial history is provided. Portugal's relations with that area of Africa as an enslaver is recounted as well as the struggle and victory of Amilcal Cabral's guerrilla force. The nation's flag and the first postage stamps issued are described.

The history, geography, demography and government of Fiji are described. The contact with Europeans such as Tasmen, James Cook and others who appear on postage stamps are noted. Fiji's first stamps were issued in 1870 and its most recent 1995 issue was a souvenir sheet featuring tropical wildlife.
