Article Abstract:

A slag chipper that is used by welders to chip of the hardened bits of flux that accumulate on electric welding joints costs $7 to $12. A method for making a hammer in a cheaper way from this welder's chipping tool is described, Slag chippers come with two faces, so one could have two differently curved faces for the cost of just one hammer.
