Hand-launch golf

Article Abstract:

The League of Silent Flight held the first Hand-Launch Golf tournament on July 21, 1992. The competition took place on a golf green, but model gliders replaced golf clubs and balls. Also included are directions for constructing a stand to store a model sailplane.

Crosswind launches, antenna installation

Article Abstract:

Crosswind launches require controlling the airplane from the side and keeping the model pointed upwind. Careful monitoring of wind shifts is always a good idea. A Nyrod tube technique for inserting an antenna into a fuselage is also shown.

Article Abstract:

Several safety guidelines for launching model gliders from winches are discussed. The guidelines cover pre-launch maintenance of winches as well as proper parachute selection.
