Insuring your stamp collection

Insuring a valuable stamp collection can be done through an insurance agent or the American Philatelic Society (APS). The APS offers four plans with varying amounts of coverage. It is also a good idea to make an inventory of the stamp collection.

Postage stamp collections can be started by either individual stamp purchases or by purchasing an entire collection. Good storage will protect a collection. Study groups and references will aid stamp collectors.

Organizing and storing your collection

Article Abstract:

Care should be taken to preserve a stamp collection. Organization and proper storage techniques include the use of envelopes, preferably glassine, and stock pages. Dealer storage techniques are also described.
