The year long celebrations of the city of Jerusalem continues with the issuance of a souvenir sheet of stamps depicting the ancient temple and walls of a city from Roman times in Syria. The Duro-Europos empire was once a part of the Jewish diaspora at a site in what is now modern Syria.

Jacqueline Cochran flies into philatelic history

Article Abstract:

Mar 1995, the USPS issued a 50-cent international postcard stamp bearing a 1938 picture of Cochran. This stamp is part of the Pioneer Pilot series. Other pilots in this series includes Bessie Coleman, Eddie Rickenbacker, the Wright Bros, Harriet Quimby, Octave Chanute, and Wiley Post.
