Lockheed painted the P-38J fire-engine red in color to celebrate the production of 5,000 P-38 models, the beautiful demonstration plane is available in three color schemes. The inboard wings, tail booms and cockpit are all made of fiberglass, and the outer wing panels, the rudders and the stabilizer are made of wood and covered with red heat-shrink covering.
