The winners of the US Power Squadrons/Motor Boating and Sailing Chapman Safety Awards are presented. The awards were given at the Power Squadrons' annual meeting in Orlando, FL. The winners include Wayne Williams, Robert W. Hyde, Michael A. Jackson, Paige Reid and Lt. Commander Stephen L. Bynum.

Pres Bush vetoed the repeal of the luxury tax because it was bundled into a larger tax bill. The tax has caused the loss of 30,000 jobs in the boating industry. A new effort must be mounted to defeat it.
