Perfins: the stamps with holes

Article Abstract:

Perfins are stamps that have holes punched out in the shape of designs such as animals or objects. They were used before the postage meter to protect stamps from being stolen. Perfins have little value, but are a challenge to collect.

Removing stamps from envelopes

Article Abstract:

Care and consideration need to be taken when removing postage stamps from envelopes since some stamps can suffer irreparable damage when immersed in water. The process is described.
